UAHT Sees Spring Enrollment Increase

Mar 2, 2026

The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) has welcomed 1,311 students for the Spring 2026 semester, marking continued enrollment growth for the institution. This spring’s enrollment represents a 7.1% increase over last spring and a 22% increase compared to Spring 2023.

A key driver of this growth is UAHT’s expanding dual enrollment programs. The number of high school students taking classes through UAHT increased 5.7% over last spring and more than 52% since Spring 2023. Through dual enrollment, students can earn college credentials at no cost while still in high school, helping them enter the workforce sooner or continue toward a higher degree with a head start.

UAHT’s affordability also continues to attract students across the region. The college offers one of the most affordable tuition and fee rates in the country, and most students receive financial aid and scholarships that significantly reduce, and often eliminate, out-of-pocket costs. In addition, UAHT provides certificate programs that prepare students for in-demand, high-paying careers in one year or less.

Chancellor Dr. Ricky Tompkins said the growth reflects the college’s strong connection to the communities it serves.

“We are committed to creating real opportunities for students and families in our region and beyond,” said Dr. Tompkins. “When students can earn college credit in high school, complete affordable workforce training, or graduate with little to no debt, that changes lives. This growth shows that our community values accessible, high-quality education, and that UAHT is our community's college.”
