The UAHT Certified Nursing Assistant Program provides courses of instruction and experiences that will prepare individuals to be a qualified member of a health care team. This program is taught following the Arkansas Long Term Care Facility Nursing Assistant Training Curriculum. Each student will be in class for 90 clock hours and clinical for 24 clock hours.

They work under the direction of registered nurses and doctors. Upon graduation from the program, students are eligible to take the Arkansas State Board of Nursing licensure exam for Practical Nurses.

Students in the program learn how to care for the bereaved and the deceased, conduct funeral service ceremonies and funeral arrangement conferences with families, preserve and restore a dead human body through embalming, be aware of proper safety guidelines, and cremation procedures.
