Welcome to the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana
It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the 8th chancellor of this remarkable institution. As an institution with campuses in Hope and Texarkana, we are comprehensive and holistic in the services we provide to the communities we serve. Since the college’s inception, more than 55 years ago, we have been and will remain steadfast in our commitment to provide excellence through:
- Dedicated and devoted faculty to student success and academic achievement
- Supportive staff to listen and guide our students to the appropriate services
- Relevant content knowledge coupled with practical application
- Affordable tuition, fees, and textbooks
- Access to up-to-date technology and classroom spaces
- Flexible class times to accommodate complex and busy schedules
Upon completing their studies, our students are equipped to transfer to a four-year university or have marketable skills to enter the workforce. UAHT students are afforded the opportunity to transfer seamlessly to any public university in Arkansas to earn advanced degrees. Moreover, we have transfer agreements with schools inside and outside of Arkansas. On the other hand, some students opt to go directly to work in occupational fields such as business, information technology, health professions, and technical and industrial professions. We even have some students enroll in non-credit courses through workforce development (to start new careers or advance in their current fields) and continuing education for self-fulfillment and self-actualization.
Remember, learning can also occur outside of the classroom, so our students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular and co-curricular activities for personal enrichment and growth. UAHT has a host of student organizations and intramural sports where students can learn about themselves, meet new friends, develop leadership skills, and become more familiar with the college. In addition, through Hempstead Hall, a state-of-the-art events venue, UAHT offers social and cultural activities such as movie nights, plays, cultural programming, and concerts.
Without question, we are committed to working with our students to help ensure their college and life success. UAHT has created academic pathways and entry points to make it easy to navigate the college environment and has taken steps to help eliminate financial barriers. UAHT offers many institutional scholarships and, through the generosity of our donors, offers numerous foundation scholarships to help eliminate the financial burden of our students.
