The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope has partnered with the National Park Service to offer a Junior Ranger Explorer Summer Camp August 12 – 14. The National Park Junior Ranger Explorer Camp connects young people to their national parks through many hands-on, guided, and self-guided activities.  National Park Service has developed an outstanding camp that is sure to be an educational and fun experience for all Junior Rangers.  The camp is open for boys and girls 9 – 12 years of age to register to attend this FREE summer camp.

On Monday, August 12, the campers will be issued their Junior Ranger Gear which includes t-shirt, backpack, journal, water-bottle, and their very own picture ID like a real Junior Ranger.  On Monday, the campers will visit the President William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace Home National Historic Site in Hope.  They will then travel to Hot Springs National Park, where they will tour historic Bathhouse Row and participate in guided nature hike.  On Tuesday, the campers will travel to Little Rock to visit Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, attend a Leadership Workshop, and tour the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library.

REGISTRATION is limited to the first 36 participants to register. Registration begins on August 5 at 12:00 noon.  To register your student for this exciting camp, it is preferred that a parent or guardian of the enrolling camper bring a completed registration form to Nancy Kenworthy at the Technical and Industrial Building on the UACCH Campus on August 5th.  Registration packets can be picked-up in Hope at First Bank, Summit Bank, Diamond Bank, BancorpSouth, UACCH Technical and Industrial Building, and President William Jefferson Clinton Birthplace Home National Historic Site.  For more information contact Nancy Kenworthy at 870-722-8102 or email her at .
