The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope Foundation has received a $48,735 grant from the Blue and You Foundation to fund the Project New Life Expansion project. This project seeks to increase hands-on pediatric experiences and cardiac knowledge for over 100 Health Care Professional Students in over 13 counties. The funds will purchase a pediatric manikin simulator as well as make updates to the existing Noelle simulator.
UACCH Practical Nursing Program Director, Cyndi Graham said, “The best experience one can gain from an education is that of hands-on experience necessary to make critical decisions. The equipment and tools this grant will provide for the nursing, paramedic, and other healthcare programs on campus is crucial to the amplitude of the education that UACCH is able to provide.”
The UACCH Simulation Lab has become a major element of the curriculum that has been built into the LPN, RN, and the Paramedic programs. This simulation lab plays a key role in helping UACCH maximize the number of students we can train each semester with the added benefit of being able to expand scenarios students are exposed to through simulation.
The college certainly appreciates being awarded this grant from the Blue and You Foundation.
