The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope Foundation is pleased to announce that it has received a matching grant from the Ronald McDonald’s House Charities Global, to go along with a  Ronald McDonald’s House Charities of Texarkana gift made possible by local McDonald’s owners Steve and Celia Montgomery.  The grant monies, totaling $8,000.00, will be used by the UACCH Foundation to support the Kids’ College  and CAMP SAVE-A-LIFE programs that are held each summer at the College for children.  Kids College is for  K – 6th grade students and Camp SAVE-A-LIFE is a medical camp for students who have completed 6th grade up through age 14.

This enrichment program has benefited an enrollment that this year reached over 300 students who engaged in a week of fun and educational activities here on the UACCH campus.  McDonald’s raises funds by setting aside a portion of income from each “Happy Meal” purchased, to go with the collections received in the canisters at local McDonald’s.

Celia Montgomery said, “We are pleased to be able to help with the continued success of Kids’ College through this support.  It is great to have programs like Kids’ College available in our community and we certainly appreciate the opportunity to give back to a community that has been so supportive of our business.”
