The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope Career Pathways Program has partnered with the Internal Revenue Service to assist local taxpayers complete simple income tax returns.  Any individual or family with a combined income of less than $57,000 qualifies to have simple federal and state returns prepared and e-filed FREE of charge.  The completed tax returns may also be printed for the taxpayer to mail.

The service is limited to simple individual returns and cannot be used for business returns.  To utilize Career Pathway volunteer’s assistance, taxpayers must bring a photo ID, Social Security cards, or ITNS of an all individuals claimed on the return, a copy of income documents (such as W-2s, 1099s, 1098s, etc.), a voided check if you want your return direct deposited, and a copy of last year’s tax return, if you have it.

If you are filing a joint return, both individuals must sign the return.  If both individuals cannot come at the same time, arrangements can be made for both to sign.

Career Pathways volunteers will also facilitate taxpayers who wish to complete and e-file returns themselves.  The Career Pathways program is located in the Student Success Center at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope and is open during normal UACCH operating hours: Monday –Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. – 3:00p.m.  Returns may be prepared through April 15th.
