The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope and UACCH-Texarkana are preparing for the first joint commencement ceremony to be held on the Hope campus in Hempstead Hall.  Students who have completed their studies on the Hope campus will be awarded certificates and degrees; and this year’s ceremony will also include the first certificates being awarded to students from the UACCH-Texarkana campus.

The ceremony will begin at 6:00p.m. with a piano processional performed by Bitsy Carter.  UACCH faculty and staff will form the traditional tunnel to welcome the graduates into the theater and into their reserved seats.  Boys Scouts of America Troop #5 Color Guard will present the colors and lead the pledge of allegiance; followed by the National Anthem performed by Marla Matthews.

Comments and a challenge to the graduates will be shared by Dr. Michael Moore, Vice President of Academic Affairs, University of Arkansas System.  Chairman of UACCH Board of Visitors, Jerry Pruden will offer his congratulatory comments to the graduates and their families on behalf of the Board of Visitors before the certification of the graduates is performed by Dr. Jennifer Methvin, Vice-Chancellor of Academics at UACCH.

After awarding over 484 certificates and awards  to the graduates, UACCH Chancellor Thomason will close the ceremony with brief remarks.

Graduation is a time of celebration for the student and their families.  The UACCH family would like to congratulate this year’s graduates on a job well done and ask that you join us in celebrating this accomplishment with each of our students.
