Mr. David Williams and Ms. Monika Sandlin has been selected as the 2015 University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana inductee into the TRiO Hall of Fame. The Arkansas TRiO Hall of Fame was implemented as a way to honor current TRiO participants. TRiO is a federal grant program providing support to first generation, low income and/or disable students on the UACCH campus. The program helps students achieve their educational goals through programs that include tutoring and leadership development. The Hall of Fame provides an opportunity for programs to showcase participants to the Arkansas Congressional delegation during the Policy Seminar visits in Washington, D.C. in March of each year. All participants are invited to become members of the Arkansas TRiO Alumni Society.
The TRiO Hall of Fame students are chosen by the program staff and must be a current student who displays the general character of all TRiO Participants. Each program will select a student who has utilized the services and support provided by TRiO. The Hall of Fame nominee takes a picture, and writes a short biography describing how TRiO has helped them to succeed. The participants are recognized and honored each year at TRiO Day. The pictures and biographies of recipients are presented by Mr. Steven Ogden to the Arkansas Congressional delegation during Policy Seminar visits in Washington, D.C.
Please help the college congratulate the 2015 University of Arkansas Community College at Hope-Texarkana TRiO Hall of Fame inductees Mr. David Williams and Ms. Monika Sandlin.
