The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope is proud to announce that the TRiO Student Support Services Team attended the Arkansas Association of Student Assistance Programs (AASAP) Annual Conference in Little Rock October 9th-12th. The purpose of AASAP is to promote meaningful association through development, improvement, and cooperative studies to Arkansas TRiO professionals.
The distinguished guests of the conference were Dr. Arnold Mitchem, President- Council for Opportunity in Education (COE); Dr. Jim Purcell, Commissioner-Arkansas Department of Higher Education; Mr. Alvin Phillips, Associate Executive Vice President of Human Resources-Council for Opportunity in Education (COE); Mr. Barry Lofton, President-Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs (SWASAP); and Dr. Roger Guevara, Director-Southwest Educational Renewal Zone.
UACCH’s TRiO Team was recognized for the following: Mrs. Mary White, Fair Share Coordinator; Mr. Steven Ogden, AASAP Representative on AASAP Executive Board, and Logistics Coordinator for the Conference; Mrs. Carolyn Beasley, for participating in Newcomer Orientation; Ms. Vergina Smith, AASAP Photographer, TRiO Alumni, and participant in Newcomer Orientation; and Ms. LeKiesa Willis, TRiO Alumni, and Workshop Moderator.
UACCH former TRiO employee, Mrs. Delores Smith, was recognized as a retiree with12 years of service to the TRiO Student Support Services program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.
