J.W. & Janis Brian Rowe Endowed Scholarship

The J.W. & Janis Brian Rowe Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has been accepted into one of the medical programs at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. This is a fall-spring scholarship and the stipend available for each semester of the academic year ranges from $250 – $500. Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

1. Applicant must be accepted into one of the medical programs at UACCH.

 

Pinehope Health Professions Endowed Scholarship

The Pinehope Health Professions Endowed Scholarship offers financial support to a student enrolled at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This is a fall-spring scholarship and the stipend available for each semester of the academic year ranges from $250-$500.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be pursuing a degree in the field of Health Professions.
  2. Applicant must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

 

EMT-Paramedic

Pafford Emergency Medical Services Endowed Scholarship

Pafford Emergency Medical Services offers financial support to a student who is enrolled in the Emergency Medical Technician certificate program or has been accepted into the EMT-Paramedic program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. This is a spring-fall scholarship and the stipend available for each semester of the academic year ranges from $250 to $500. Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows: Applicant must be enrolled in EMT certificate or EMT-Paramedic degree program.

  1. Applicant must maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  2. Applicant must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester.
  3. Scholarship is based on financial need.
  4. Student receiving any other scholarship is not eligible for the Pafford EMS Endowed Scholarship.

Rook, Ferrand and Clingan Endowed Memorial Scholarship

The City of Hope, Arkansas offers financial support to a student who has been accepted into the Paramedic Program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. This is a spring-fall scholarship and the stipend available for each semester of the academic year ranges from $250 – $500.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

Scholarship criteria are as follows:

  1. Applicant must be accepted in the UACCH Paramedic Program.
  2. Applicant must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5.

Funeral Services

Brazzel Funeral Services Scholarship 

Brazzel Funeral Home offers financial support to a student who has been accepted into the Funeral Service program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This $1,000 scholarship, payable in two consecutive semesters (fall-spring; $500 per semester), is awarded annually.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1.  Applicant must be accepted into the UACCH Funeral Services Program as a full-time student (taking 12 or more credit hours).
  2. Applicant must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher.
  3. Preference goes to Hempstead or Nevada County resident.

 

Nursing

Alna R. Watkins Endowed Scholarship

The Alna R. Watkins Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has been accepted into the Arkansas Rural Nursing Education Consortium (PN to associate level RN program) at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This is a fall-spring scholarship and the stipend available for each semester of the academic year ranges from $250 – $500.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be accepted into the UACCH class of the ARNEC (PN to RN program).
  2. Applicant must currently work in the health care industry.
  3. Applicant must submit with the scholarship application a recommendation from current employer.
  4. Preference will be given to current employees of Hillcrest Care and Rehabilitation Center, or its successor engaging in the activity of providing long term care, located in Prescott, Arkansas, pursuing a higher degree in the nursing (health) profession.

 

Charles & Helen Downs Endowed Scholarship

The Charles & Helen Downs Endowed Scholarship in Practical Nursing is awarded annually to a student who has been accepted into the Practical Nursing Program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This is a fall-spring scholarship and the stipend available for each semester of the academic year ranges from $250 – $500.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be accepted into the Practical Nursing Program and enrolled as a full-time student at UACCH (taking 12 or more credit hours).
  2. Applicant must have and maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
  3. Preference will be given to single parents.

 

Ned Ray Purtle Family Endowed Nursing Scholarship

Ned Ray and Carolyn Purtle offer financial support for students who have been accepted into the Practical Nursing Program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  Five (5) $1,000 scholarships, payable in two consecutive semesters (fall-spring; $500 per semester), are awarded annually.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be a full-time student at UACCH (taking 12 or more credit hours) in the Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
  2. Applicant must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  3. Preference will be given to residents of Hempstead or Nevada counties.

 

Pat Tidwell Endowed Memorial Award in Nursing

Dr. Lawrence Bigongiari offers financial support for a student who has been accepted into the Practical Nursing Program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  The $250 stipend is awarded to the student who is selected as the most “Compassionate Professional” among his or her peers. To submit a nomination, please abide by the following guidelines:

  1. Applicant must be accepted in the Practical Nursing Program at UACCH.
  2. A brief letter addressed to the “Selection Committee” explaining why the student is deserving of the award and how they have demonstrated compassion in their nursing studies thus far.

 

Shawna Williamson Bevins Scholarship (ARNEC)  [Fall-Spring]

The family of Shawna Williamson Bevins offers financial support to a student who has been accepted into the ARNEC program on the UACCH campus.  The $1,000 scholarship, payable in two consecutive semesters (fall-spring; $500 per semester) is awarded annually.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be a current nursing student, pursuing their RN license through the ARNEC program on the UACCH campus.
  2. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00

 

Virginia Clinton Kelley Endowment Practical Nursing Scholarship

The Honorable William Jefferson Clinton offers financial support to students who have been accepted into the Practical Nursing program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This scholarship is awarded annually in the spring semester.  The dollar amount and number of scholarships awarded is based on fund availability and scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be admitted to and have an approved degree plan for the UACCH Practical Nursing program.
  2. Applicant must have at least a 2.5 cumulative college grade point average.

Applicant must demonstrate financial need as measured by the federal financial aid process.

Respiratory

Jim Pruden Memorial Scholarship in Respiratory Care

Jerry and Twyla Pruden offer financial support to a student who has been accepted into the Respiratory Care Program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  This $1,500 scholarship is awarded annually and will be distributed over the three regular semesters of the program as follows: $500 Spring, $500 Fall, $500 Spring. Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be accepted into the UACCH Respiratory Care Program. (A copy of program acceptance letter must accompany this form.)
  2. Applicant must have a minimum college grade point average of 2.5.
  3. Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation. One letter must be from an academic instructor. The second letter can be from a personal or professional reference.
  4. In order to retain the scholarship for a second semester, a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required.

Ned Ray & Carolyn Purtle offer financial support for students who have been accepted into the Respiratory Care Program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope.  Two (2) $1,000 scholarships, payable in two consecutive semesters (spring-fall; $500 per semester) are awarded annually.  Continued eligibility is subject to academic performance and other scholarship criteria as follows:

  1. Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at UACCH (taking 12 or more credit hours) in the Respiratory Care Program.
  2. Applicant must currently have and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
  3. Preference will be given to residents of Hempstead or Nevada Counties.
