HOPE, AR – – The University of Arkansas Hope – Texarkana Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Jim and Lindy Franks Endowed Scholarship.  The Scholarship is for a student pursuing a degree in education and maintaining a 3.0 GPA.  A preference for awarding the scholarship will be given to a Nevada County student.

Jim and Lindy were long-time residents of Nevada County before moving to Little Rock.  Although both have advanced degrees, they each first earned a bachelors degree in education.  Jim served ten years on the Prescott School Board.  An attorney, he has worked many years in the banking industry and is the President of First National Bankers Bank in Little Rock.  Lindy’s passion for students has been evident in her work in the classroom and serving the school districts in this region.  She retired as Director of the Southwest Arkansas Educational Cooperative in Hope in 2012.  Lindy is an active member on the U of A Hope-Texarkana Board of Visitors and the Foundation Board of Directors.  The Franks are excited to establish this scholarship to help students pursue their dreams of higher education.  They understand the value and positive impact an education can have on an individual.

Please help the U of A Hope-Texarkana express our thanks to Jim and Lindy Franks for the new Endowed Scholarship.
