In memory of James A. McLarty, Jr., the family, represented by the sons Jim, Tony, and Phil McLarty, has established the James A. McLarty, Jr., Endowed Scholarship for students enrolled in the Diesel Technology program at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. The late Mr. McLarty was known as “Mr. Mac” on campus as he shared his knowledge of mechanics with UACCH students for 25 years.
The financial assistance provided by this scholarship will allow the “McLarty” name to be a part of many more students accomplishing their educational goals. A preference in awarding this scholarship will be given to a student who has maintained a 2.5 GPA in the Diesel Technology Program. Diesel Technology is one of many technical programs for which UACCH offers both a certificate of proficiency and a technical certificate.
The UACCH Foundation would like to express heart-felt thanks to the McLarty Family for their choosing this gift to honor their father. Mr. Mac was such a dear member of the UACCH family; the college looks forward to awarding this scholarship to deserving recipients.
