The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope Foundation is honored to announce the endowment of the J.T. and Edith Honeycutt Memorial Endowed Scholarship through an additional gift by their children, Dr. John and Ann Honeycutt and Dr. Jerry and Betty Honeycutt Welch.  This scholarship was originally established in 2010 through memorials for J. T. Honeycutt. It was augmented by memorials made for Mrs. Honeycutt upon her death in 2013.

Mr. Honeycutt graduated from the St. Louis College of Mortuary Science and received his license from the Arkansas State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers in 1949.  He served as Hempstead County Coroner for 26 years and worked at Herndon-Cornelius Funeral Home and later at the Brazzel Funeral Home in both Hope and Prescott.  Upon his death in 2010, the family requested that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to UACCH to establish the memorial scholarship.

After the passing of their beloved mother, Mrs. Edith Honeycutt, the children donated the necessary funds remaining to endow this scholarship to assure it is a lasting memorial to their parents and to benefit future students seeking degrees in Funeral Services.

The UACCH Foundation is honored that this family selected the college for this lasting memorial for J.T. and Edith Honeycutt.
