Wednesday, the UACCH campus was filled with an extra 800 students from across southwest Arkansas who were on campus to attend the District V Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) meeting. The theme for the meeting was “Lead the Way” and the included a full morning of activities in the Hempstead Hall theater.

The meeting was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance lead by Kayla Ashbrooks, Vice-President of Public Relations from Murfreesboro, and the singing of the National Anthem by Kendal Wood of DeQueen High School.  Kelly Fatheree, District 5 FCCLA President from Nashville High School, provided opening remarks, and welcomed UACCH Chancellor Chris Thomason to the podium to welcome students to the campus.  Following the Chancellor’s remarks the District V FCCLA members moved through an extended agenda that included a skit by the District V officers.

Incoming Officers Include President, Lana Thurman from Blevins High School; Vice-President of Programs, Olivia Coulter from Mineral Springs High School; Vice-President of Public Relations, Maci Stout of Spring Hill High School; Secretary, Nathan Price from Magnolia High School; Treasurer, John Grace from Nashville Junior High School; and Parliamentarian, Alayna Morphew from Nashville High School.
