This sequence of courses is designed to allow students ease of transfer into a teacher education baccalaureate degree program for P-4 or middle school teachers offered at any of the public four-year universities in Arkansas. Completion of this degree will also meet the educational requirements for paraprofessional positions at many Arkansas public schools.
The Arkansas Department of Higher Education has approved this degree plan as listed; no course substitutions will be allowed. Further, Arkansas four-year universities have agreed to “accept and apply all AAT courses toward the total semester credit hours required for the bachelor’s degree in Middle School or P-4 Education” and to “admit qualified AAT students to the College of Education with junior status.”
In addition to the course requirements listed below, students must successfully pass the Praxis I exam and have a cumulative grade point of 2.65. The Arkansas pass scores for the Praxis I are as follows: Reading—172; Writing—173; Math—171. Please see an AAT advisor if you have any questions regarding the requirements for this AAT degree.

*ARKANSAS COURSE TRANSFER SYSTEM (ACTS)
The Arkansas Course Transfer System (ACTS) contains information about the transferability of courses within Arkansas public colleges and universities. Students are guaranteed the transfer of applicable credits and the equitable treatment in the application of credits for the admissions and degree requirements. Course transferability is not guaranteed for courses listed in ACTS as “No Comparable Course.” Additionally, courses with a “D” frequently do not transfer and institutional policies may vary. ACTS may be accessed on the Internet by going to the ADHE website and selecting Course Transfer (http://adhe.edu). Courses not having an ACTS number may also transfer. Please consult the receiving institution for complete transfer information.
