The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope would like to thank the community for their support of the 21st Annual UACCH Fish Fry. This year’s event was a success with over 1,500 attending, helping to raise over $17,000 for the Hempstead-Lafayette Single Parent Scholarship Fund. The UACCH Foundation, as the fiscal agent for the Hempstead-Lafayette Single Parent Scholarship Fund will now apply for up to $14,000 in matching funds from the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund. The College would like to thank the Lions Club for the outstanding job they do each year in preparing their famous fried fish and side dishes.
The year’s event was special in that it served as the inaugural event of the Anthony-Routon Amphitheater. Hope’s very own Hope High Jazz Cats certainly started the event off with an outstanding performance. They were followed by the traditional Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting to officially open the Anthony-Routon Amphitheater. The evening was completed with an entertaining concert by the Eskimo Brothers.
UACCH would like to thank our sponsors who are so important to the success of this event. This year our Big Catch sponsors included Joan McLean, Tyson, Brazzel Funeral Services, and Georgia Pacific.
